Adding to the elegance and appeal of the Ives Auditorium is this set of historic theater drops acquired by the MMHC in 2015. These drops were hand-painted by noted scenic artist Thomas Moses during the first half of the 20th century for the Valley of Fort Scott, Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, S. J. of Kansas. The multi-piece scenes were carefully restored and hung in the Auditorium between 2015 and 2017. This collection ranges from elaborate cathedral renderings to rolling pastoral settings offering audiences an opportunity to view their grandeur during select performances and events.
